

The following price guide is for oil paintings on stretched canvas frames. Prices reflect a single head or full body with a simple background.
Detailed backgrounds (i.e, furniture, landscapes, buildings) will alter the price slightly.

More than one dog? Dogs on the same canvas - second dog, add 30% to the prices, third dog, please add a total of 50% to the price for the portrait. More than three dogs? Please contact me for an individual quote for your portrait. I can also bring dogs together from various photographs for a composition on one painting. If I feel the positioning of the dogs, the quality of the photographs, or the overall concept is not going to work, I will be very honest with you and tell you. I want you to be happy with your investment and keepsake.
Gift Cards are also available. This is a great idea if you have trouble getting hold of photos. The recipient will still be very surprised and delighted while composing the painting to their own liking.
Before starting the painting, I prefer making a visit to get to know your dog(s), taking photographs and making color notations. I like to spend time getting to know you, listening to your stories and talking about the portrait. . If you are in my area, there will be no additional charge for my visit. From there, I will send you a series of photographs tochoose from. I can work solely from photographs if it is not possible for me to meet with you but in this instance,
the photos must be excellent in clarity and color.I will be honest with you and tell you if the photos wiill work.Sometimes I am asked to paint a dog that has died. In this instance, I work solely from photographs and again, they must be very good photographs.
Once the composition and size have been determined, the start and finish dates will be mutually determined. If it is for a special occasion, I will do my best to work with you on a specific date, depending on the number of commissions I am working on at the time.
